
Habitat: Dry open woods and woodland edges, including oak woodlands and savannas. Clearings, thickets, pastures, old fields, meadows, and sunny forest openings. Ridges, rocky summits, cliffs/ledges, and warm, dry slopes or bluffs.
Wildlife value: This plant supports Wavy-lined Emerald (Synchlora aerata) larvae. This plant provides nectar for pollinators.
